As a senior photographer in Columbus, Ohio for over 7 years, I believe the summer is a great time to book your senior session. If you don’t want to have to book around a crazy school or sports schedule, the summer is a great time to book your senior session.

Flexibility Before the School Year Begins

First off, one of the key reasons summer is the ideal time for senior sessions is the flexibility it offers. With school out for the summer, seniors often find their schedules are more open, providing lots of time for a relaxed photo session. No looming exams, homework, or extracurricular activities or serious sport schedules to work around means we can focus on capturing genuine moments without the constraints of a busy academic schedule.

Beautiful Flowers and Natural Backdrops

Another reason why the summer is a great time for senior photos is because Columbus comes alive during the summer. This time of year offers an array of vibrant and picturesque locations that serve as the perfect backdrop for senior photos. Some of my favorites are Inniswood Metro Park, Everal Barn and Kiwanis Park. From the lush greenery of parks to the charming urban scenes, the city provides a diverse range of settings to choose from. I have my favorite locations that I love to shoot in, and I will offer you the best suggestions.

Wardrobe Choices Reflecting the Season

Finally, many senior girls love to have a little color and show it off! Long or short flowy dresses are always flattering. Casual summer wear, like a cute top paired with shorts or a skirt are great choices, too. The clothing options during this time of year can add an extra layer of creativity to the photoshoot. The vibrant colors and lightweight fabrics are always stunning choices.
